Forest Garden Livestream

All Together Now
The beauty of a forest garden is that it integrates ornamental, wildlife and edible gardening in one space. A forest garden is also just a name; there are many people who garden in a environmentally sensitive and integrated way without calling it forest gardening. Malcolm Berry, aka The Dreaded Gardener, is one shining example. I remember well a talk he gave to a local gardening club, and I asked him what his favourite wildlife plant was. Well, all of them, of course.
And this is why a forest garden works, because it works as an ecosystem. You can’t isolate one part, it has to be all together now.
Apologies for late delivery of the newsletter. In today’s livestream I’ll be looking at my current projects, where I’m trying to integrate ornamental, native and edible gardening, in a domestic patio setting and on a eco-housing development.

The Backyard Forest online course
My online forest garden course The Backyard Forest is ticking along. I’m slowly adding more practical walkthrough videos. I feel the course would benefit from practical assignments and quizzes, the gamification of forest gardening, to encourage greater engagement.
