Wednesday 9th June, 10am BST
Realtime Course
No.2 — Structure
On the first three Wednesdays of June, the livestream is forming a complete forest garden course:
Wed 2nd June — Plan
Wed 9th June — Structure
Wed 16th June — Cultivate
The first session was ‘Plan’, all about the observation, planning and design. The next session on Wednesday 9th June is about the structure. This is setting up the bones of the forest garden, the windbreaks, paths, outbuildings and canopy layer.
The course is for beginners, and will be similar in structure to my paid Backyard Forest course (you can access the Backyard Forest slides here).
At 10.30am, there is a 40 minute Zoom seminar, where we discuss people's gardens and projects. I tried using Gumroad for allocating pay-what-you-can tickets but that didn't really work out — it charges in dollars!
This time round, if you would like to make a donation, you can do so on my GoFundMe page.
European Barberry is a great forest garden plant — edible berries, beautiful scent, native to the UK. I’m sure I’ll talk about Barberries at some point in the course…

Peat Free Cymru
In slightly-forest-garden related news, I’ve created a petition to the Welsh Senedd to ban the use of peat in horticulture in Wales by 2023. This comes off the back of a UK campaign, Peat Free April.
