A smaller forest garden can still contain a diverse range of edible crop plants, you just need to pay attention to the rootstock, species and final sizes

Consider trained fruit trees eg espalier
Pollarded trees eg Small-leaved Lime, bay (can be pruned)
Smaller trees eg hawthorns, Pepper trees
Fruit bushes
All perennial veg, and ground covers
